Draft · last updated 1 October 2026

The short version
  • We keep your wines, notes and stamps so your journal works.
  • We never sell your data, and there are no ads or tracking.
  • You can download or delete everything, any time, from your profile.

Who we are

Martha's Wine Trail is a wine journal at trail.marthasvineyard.es, run by [company name, address, NIF]. We're responsible for the personal data described here. Questions: info@marthasvineyard.es.

What we keep, and why

  • Your email, when you save your journal or sign in, to send your sign-in link.
  • Your first name, if you give it, to greet you and name your passport.
  • That you're 18 or over, because Wine Trail is about alcohol.
  • Your tasting notes: the wine, vintage, date, what you smelt and tasted, your sliders and scores, and where and who with, if you say. This is the journal itself.
  • Your taste quiz answers and home region, to start Martha's reading of your palate and suggest stamps nearby.
  • Wines you add join the shared catalogue so others can find them. They're never shown with your name.

We use these to run your journal for you. We don't collect your location, contacts or payment details.

Label photos and AI

When you snap a label, the photo is read by our AI provider to find the wine. We keep the photo with your note so it can stand in for the bottle on your own wine cards. It's stored privately, only you see it, and it's deleted with your account.

Wine Trail uses Claude, an AI made by Anthropic, to read labels, find wines you're looking for (including by searching public websites for a wine's details), and write Martha's comparisons and picks. The text needed for each (for example your tasting words for that wine) is sent to Anthropic, which processes it for us and doesn't use it to train its models. Martha is a character, and her notes are written with the help of AI.

Who sees it

Only the companies that run the app for us, under data processing agreements:

  • Supabase: our database and sign-in emails [region].
  • Vercel: hosts the app.
  • Anthropic: the AI, in the US.
  • grapeminds: a wine database in the EU we search when a wine isn't in ours. Only the search words go, never who searched.

Where data leaves the EU, it's protected by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We never sell your data, and only share it if the law requires us to.

Cookies

Only the essential ones that keep you signed in. No advertising, tracking or analytics cookies. The app also remembers a few small things on your phone, like whether you've seen a tip; they never leave your device.

How long we keep it

  • Your journal and your label photos, for as long as you have an account.
  • Delete your account and your notes, label photos, stamps and profile go straight away; copies in our backups are cleared within [30] days.
  • An unsaved journal stays tied to that phone's browser until you save it or delete it.
  • Wines you added stay in the shared catalogue, with no link to you.

Your rights

You can see, correct, download or delete your data, and object to or restrict how we use it. Download your notes or delete your account from your profile, or write to info@marthasvineyard.es and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es) or the authority where you live.

Adults only

Wine Trail is for people aged 18 or over. We don't knowingly keep data about anyone younger; if you think a minor has an account, tell us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
